Customer requirements what is the current performance, what are the gaps, what is the current performance compared to other class systems?
Identify At risks students, are students making adequate progress, don’t know?, conduct assessments, no - identify root cause, conduct assessments, report data to the principal monthly.

Children have to desire structure, you can’t force it on them.

Greeted by a display of Mechanicsville Elementary paraphernalia. Accumulated cost of items should be about $1,000. The effort involved in applying for the award. Did it benefit the children?

Environmental education people who have env week will result in Steny Hoyer meeting with Leonardtown High students at ? Park. Students and teachers Wearing medals.

After env week Carney presented categorical changes primarily money to cover people have retired.. Carney says it was about $100,000. Money collected for field trips was not remitted to the central office. Those $$ were recovered.
There were a few questions about what will happen with left over
Tuition assistance seems to need about $350,000.
Next item is the Dynard elementary school contract approval. A 1400 sf addition and alt 1 insulation of ADA compliant playground. 5 bids, 2 not in conformance (minority participation). W. M. Davis was low bidder. He did k at Oakville and Ridge as well as Moakley St. Mattingly said they are all familiar with the quality of the work of W. M. Davis. Raspa asked about Dennis Anderson construction and Blazer construction did not comply. They knew what the requirement is, said Sal. SS is having a seminar on minority participation. Raspa said he doesn’t understand how the contractors could not understand. Kessler said it is good to see someone who has done the work come in. Motion by Kessler, 2nd by 320,800 for base + alternates one and two.
Local capital improvement program FY ‘06 - FY ‘11. The board acted on March 23, it was presented to the BOCC on March 25. They suggested moving fund for site purchase to ‘06 from ‘07. Unanimously passage.
Chris Longmore and Bea Gordon came to present about confidentiality with respect to the Superintendent search program. She said this is a critical part of the search. She said they guarantee confidentiality. You have attracted over 20 applicants. She would hate to have breach cause applicants withdraw. Some applicants are open and have informed employees, others are not. Stakeholders who many be involved cannot share information they may acquire. They will determine what gets shared. This process is governed by law.
Longmore noted that legal issues. There are policy reasons that information should be kept secret. Policies and procedures for executive session says information should be kept within the executive session. The Open Meetings Act and freedom of information act would be violated if information is released.
Bill Mattingly said he fully understands. He hopes everyone will respect.
It’s just a matter of following procedures. Allen said the very real possibility that we would lose candidates, for us who have invested the time and the money, the idea that we would do something that would instantly throw that away is an idea that is not appealing.
I talked to so and so and they said they had applied, said Gordon, you can’t acknowledge that. Have people call me if they have information that they believe should be shared.
Allen: there have been people who wanted a committee to do this. Confidentiality precludes this from happening.
We’ll do a press release when we have finalists said Gordon. People, people’s carreers, and their lives.
Screening just about finished. Applicants shared on April 29. Board determine who to be interviewed. Week of May 23 will be in County interviews, they suggest no less than three or more than four. Board will make a decision. By beginning of June you should know who the person is.
They do not normally put a line item in the budget for snow removal.

Allen is co chair of the fall planning conference. She attended the SIT meeting and the Ed Spec Meeting at Leonardtown Elementary school to convey Staff and parents are pleased with the process. Kelly Hall has taken everyone in. The Board will look forward to seeing the end produce. She has taken a leadership class and the Chopticon Military Ball. Johnnie Jackson was recognized at Washington Post meeting. Diversity forum is tomorrow evening at St. Jerome’s Hall. Will be there for a while tomorrow. NSBA conference at San Diego on Friday.
